My partner and I are apart of the Henley on Todd here in Alice Springs.
On the big day we were down in the river bed along with almost 4000 people. We were getting the boat ready, and all dressed up as pirates we decided to go down to the middle of the arena and cause some trouble (as pirates do) 
All of a sudden my partner is handed the microphone to start stirring up the croud, and all I can remember is him saying was "Who is going for the pirates?" and with that there was a huge cheer and he said "but there is one thing I have to do first..." In his pirate voice he said "Arrh, I would like to ask my girl friend to Marry me"
In complete shock I ran over to him and all I could hear was everyone clapping and cheering. We managed to get our name's, along with a huge photo of the proposal, into the news paper and on the local News that night. So everywhere I go I am now know as the 'Pirate Wench' that said YES in the creek. (Of course I said yes, and to make the day even more special we won!)
